CLEVELAND, TN (WRCB)- Up and coming country music entertainer Kylie Morgan will bring her show to Cleveland on Saturday for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
The 14-year-old Oklahoman is a YouTube sensation for her song "She's Our Miracle," and is recording an album for release this summer on LandRun Records. You can see an assortment of her performances at http://www.kyliemorgan.com/
The middle daughter in a family of three girls, Kylie is already an accomplished songwriter and guitarist, and is hoping to add the piano to her repertoire soon. She hopes to model her career after Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, "because they're both doing things the right way," she said.
She says Cleveland audiences will get to see a lively show, "because I don't just sit there and sing. I move around, have fun and get in their faces!"
The high school freshman has maintained a 4.0 average, even in the face of a recording career. "It's hard to get noticed these days," she said. "You have to work at this really hard, but my family and I are committed to it."
As one of the CMA's Top 10 new artists to watch in 2010, Kylie is looking forward to more performances and recordings as she earns her way to stardom. "Getting out and meeting people in the crowd is the best part," she says. "I hope they enjoy my music as much as I enjoy entertaining them."
She is scheduled to perform Saturday between 8 and 11 a.m. on the Courthouse Square as part of the 26-hour Relay for Life.
