POLK COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- A rock slide destroyed a 70-foot section of the wooden flume which carries water to the Ocoee 2 powerhouse.

The Wednesday morning slide did not cause any injuries. The section is below Ocoee 2 diversion dam about one mile above the powerhouse. TVA officials say until the flume is repaired there will be a loss of generating power at Ocoee No. 2.

Based on TVA's forecast, water will be flowing through Ocoee No. 2 diversion dam through Friday. Heavy rains are forecast for this weekend. TVA officials will notify local officials if the rain results in flows in excess of 3,000 cubic feet per second. At that point, rafting will shut down.
