CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The victim of a home robbery was thrown from the hood of a speeding car after she chased the suspects.

The robbery happened at 9:30pm Monday.  Thirty-eight-year-old Angela Whitaker was in a bedroom of her Hickory Valley apartment. She told police that a teenaged boy suddenly appeared in her bedroom. When she confronted him, he punched her in the chest, knocked her down and grabbed money that was on Whitaker's night stand. He ran from the apartment to a waiting car.

Whitaker gave chase and caught up with the suspect just as he got into the car. She jumped on the hood of the car to try to stop the suspects but was slung about and thrown as they sped from the apartment's parking lot. Whitaker suffered bruises and abrasions but had no life threatening injuries.

She described the first suspect as a light-skinned black male

  •  5'06 feet tall
  •  175 lbs
  •  about 17-years-old
  •  low fade afro
  •  light brown eyes acne on his face

Whitaker said he appeared to be high on something. Police say there is no description of the second suspect driving the getaway car. No arrests have yet been made but the investigation will continue.
