Update: Lockdown over at Chattanooga school; No gun found

3PM MARCH 29TH

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- According to investigators, a teacher at Orchard Knob Middle found several rounds of ammunition lying on the floor in a classroom. School officials report there was also an allegation that a student had a gun on school property.  

Because of problems that happened over the weekend, the School Resource Officer assigned to Orchard Knob decided to search the school grounds as well as classrooms and students. 

 Officers say no weapon was located during the search and the school lock down was lifted at 12:30 p.m.

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- We have a developing story to tell you about at a Chattanooga school.

Officers have reportedly found ammunition at Orchard Knob Middle school on Monday morning. They are now going room to room to see if there is a weapon at the school. Hamilton County Sheriff's department spokesperson Janice Atkinson says the school is on lockdown.

Eyewitness News reporter Amy Morrow tells us there are now 24 police cruisers on the scene. We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
