Police Seek Credit Card Theft

Posted: Updated:

DALTON (WRCB)-- The Dalton Police Department is asking for help from the public in identifying a man who used a stolen credit card number to make hundreds of dollars' worth of purchases at the Shugart Road Wal-Mart.

In late February, the Dalton Police Department was contacted by a victim from Ft. Myers, Florida who said his credit card had been used without his consent at the Shugart Road Wal-Mart.  Investigators worked with store staff to find surveillance video of the purchases being made.  A male suspect, possibly white or Hispanic with dark hair was recorded using several cards to buy gift cards.  Because the Ft. Myers victim is still in possession of his credit card, it's possible that the suspect has cloned his card.  Pictures of the suspect and the truck in which he left the store are included below.

If you have any information on the identity of this suspect, please contact Detective Jason Bishop at 706-278-9085, extension 214 or Crimestoppers at 698-3333.
