CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - For the second time in three months, Chattanooga firefighters had to knock down flames at a home at 8012 Shallowford Road.

Bright orange flames lit up the Saturday night sky, prompting several calls to 911 just before 11:00 p.m. Dispatchers were not certain whether the home was inside the city limits so they sent trucks from the Chattanooga Fire Department and the Tri-Community Fire Department. It was determined that this home is inside the city limits so CFD took over.

No one has been living in the home since a previous fire in December. Firefighters stretched large hoses across Shallowford Road between Jenkins Road and Ranch Hills Road, which stopped traffic for a while. Because of extensive damage from the previous fire, firefighters could not go inside. They had to fight the flames from the outside only.

It took four fire companies about a half hour to get the fire under control. No injuries were reported and it is too early to know for sure what started the fire.
