TVA says it will soon complete temporary construction to raise the height of four dams in Tennessee, including Watts Bar.

Eyewitness News first told you about the plan in October. A new analysis suggests the dams could be topped by a worst-case flood.

TVA officials say such a flood is extremely unlikely, but they say new hydrology studies suggest raising the dams are necessary.

TVA is installing temporary walls on the dams at Watts Bar, Fort Loudoun, Tellico, and Cherokee Lakes.

It has plans for permanent construction later.
