Kimball Church Rebuilds After '07 Tornado

Posted: Updated:

Kimball, TN (WRCB) -- Members of Kimball Baptist Church celebrate progressive steps forward with a ribbon cutting outside the front doors of a brand new building.

Greeters happily welcomed visitors, but 2 years ago an EF2 tornado ripped through the city of Kimball destroying the church and a number of cars in the parking lot.

The choir sang a new song in the sanctuary, one of overcoming and triumph.

Hundreds came out to worship, many of those who were eager to see the new church after two years or waiting.

Many members would volunteer during the construction of the new building.

For those who witnessed the storm, many said it was the least they could do to help

The tornado not only destroyed the church but several buildings in the city.

The pastor said when the storm hit, the church was in the process of looking to rebuild and it was something he prayed for often, Sunday he said he got his answer.
