Radzyminski founded Tunes 4 the Troops in 2005.CLEVELAND Tenn. (WRCB) - It's the largest donation in music history: 102,000 CDs are headed overseas to help our nation's troops. It's all thanks to the work of one Cleveland High School student.
It's a moment Kaylee Marie Radzyminski wants to remember, and one that she'll tell you never seemed possible. Not so long ago the Cleveland senior was just another high school student with a big dream.
"I had no idea that this many people would get involved and this many people would be on board donating their CDs and DVDs, and I'm so happy that it is this big," said Radzyminski.
It's so big that Radzyminski's having CDs and DVDs delivered to her doorstep.
Recently, her Tunes 4 the Troops project made national headlines. Radzyminski's mission inspired a Pennslyvania organization to donate a million dollars worth of music used to help cancer patients cope.
"Even though it is for cancer, it's very uplifting and the troops will definitely appreciate it," said Radzyminski.
"She's definitely a kind hearted generous person to put something together like this," said Mike Bayer, One Less Tear. "It's a big task."
It's a task that Radzyminski knows she couldn't do alone.
"I'm basically speechless, because I can't thank them enough, and I know that the troops appreciate them just as much, if not more, than I appreciate them," said Radzyminski.
Radzyminski says it would have taken more than a year for her to gather this many CDs on her own. So far, she's sent more than 440,000 CD's and DVD's overseas to help our nation's troops.
Radzyminski founded Tunes 4 the Troops in 2005. The high school senior says she's planning to attend college at either Tennessee Tech or the Naval Academy in the fall.
