DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities on Florida's Atlantic coast say a tourist from Tennessee is the 22nd shark bite victim of the year.
Volusia County beach patrol spokesman Captain Scott Petersohn says the 32-year-old visitor was swimming in waist-deep water when he was bitten Sunday morning.
Officials say the man received two lacerations to his heel and will most likely "get a couple of sutures."
Sunday's bite ties the record for the most shark bites in the county in a year. That record was set in 2001.
