
UPDATE--Dalton Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating a crash that occurred on VD Parrott Pkwy, at about 1:10 pm, Thursday afternoon.
Evidence at the scene indicates that a 1993 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Andrew West, 28 years of age, of Lansing, TN, was traveling south on VD Parrott Pkwy when it crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 1996 Volvo Conventional Truck being driven by Phillip Young, 36 years of age, of Oakman, GA, head on.
Mr. West was transported to Hamilton Medical Center with possible internal injuries. Three passengers in the vehicle driven by Mr. West were also transported to Hamilton Medical Center. Front seat passenger, Elizabeth Brock, 20 years of age, of Dalton was transported with unknown injuries. Rear seat passenger, Anthony Hill, 30 years of age, of Rocky Face was also transported with possible internal injuries. A 1 year old male, who was a rear seat passenger and restrained in a Child Car seat was transported but treated and released.
It was unclear Thursday evening why the vehicle driven by Mr. West crossed over into the north bound lane.
DALTON (WRCB) -- In Dalton, five people were rushed to the hospital after a head on collision.
Investigators say a Jeep Cherokee and a large sewer and drain service truck, crashed into each other on VD Parrott parkway.
Four passengers were in the Jeep Cherokee and one in the truck.
All five were taken to an area hospital.
