FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - A north Alabama police chief removed from his job after being charged with driving under the influence has been found guilty.
Police Chief Tony Logan received a 90-day suspended sentence and probation for 24 months Wednesday.
City Judge James E. Hall II also issued a $600 fine, including $425 in court costs, and ordered that he complete a court-referral program and meet with a victims-impact panel.
The December arrest came after police received a report of a possible drunk driver who damaged a mailbox.
Authorities later determined Logan's blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit for driving.
Logan has been police chief in Tuscumbia since July 2008.
