(WRCB) - High pressure over the Tennessee Valley makes for a delightful Memorial Day weekend! Conditions will be dry for several days. This is great news considering it's rained and/or stormed the last four weekends, so finally we get a break just in time for the holiday.
Tonight could be interesting. Winds will die down and with clear skies we may get near the record low of 46 that was set in 1942. I think the airport will hit 48, so that is pretty close. Outlying areas will see lows near 40. No frost is expected here, but in NE TN that will be possible. Highs will climb into the upper 70's to near 80 for Saturday. On Sunday the lows will be near 50 with highs in the low 80's. We may see a few clouds Sunday. A few more clouds will dot the skies for Memorial day and temperatures will rise to near 87. For the rest of the week highs will be in the upper 80's and lows will be in the low to mid 60's. Humidity levels will be higher than this weekend, so it will start to feel summery.

We will continue a warm, muggy pattern with winds at 5-10 mph and highs reaching about 90 degrees. The heat and humidity will combine with a trough of low pressure to produce one or two thunderstorms. More>>
Expect dense fog as you head out this morning. A fog advisory is in effect until 10am. We saw about 2" of rain at the Chattanooga airport over the weekend, bringing our annual surplus to about 13" above normal. More>>
