CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Kevin Lee, an employee of Boyd-Buchanan School and active Army Reservist, was recently promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.  He was pinned by Colonel Hollingsworth in Djibouti, Africa where he is currently serving as a Civil Affairs officer and is commander of Alpha company from the 489th.

Lee was deployed with the 489th Civil Affairs Battalion from Knoxville and has been in Djibouti since August of 2008.  He hopes to return to the states this summer.  Lee is a veteran of Desert Storm and was also deployed to Fort Bragg, NC in 2005.

On February 27, Lieutenant Col. Lee spoke to the Boyd-Buchanan School 1st graders through a computer service called Skype. The 1st graders have been studying the African culture and Lieutenant Col. Lee was able to talk to them about the different types of animals, climates, and schools there are in Africa.
