The University of Tennessee has removed the name of a former payday loan mogul from an athletics building after he failed to follow through on a $2 million pledge.
A UT Men's Athletics Department spokesperson says Steve "Toby" McKenzie, and his then-wife, Brenda, pledged $4 million for an athletic center in 2000.
The couple later divorced and split the pledge evenly.
Brenda Lawson paid her portion in full.
McKenzie did not complete his pledge and his name was removed from the building.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports McKenzie filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December to allow for reorganization.
