CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - For 6-year-old Alexus Prescott and her little brother, Christian, Sunday will be a day they won't soon forget. For them and the other 18 children Christmas is coming early. This group of kids are in foster care or protective services and holiday parties don't come often.
"I'm really, really too excited, because I love Santa!" said 5-year-old Christian Prescott.
"I'm going to tell him I want a Hanna Montana doll," said Alexus Prescott.
For Alexus and Christian, this is one of their first Christmas celebrations thanks to the gracious help of the Local Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. Each child here will each receive $240 worth of Christmas gifts.
"Making a difference in these very special kids lives is the best Christmas present by far that I've ever had in my entire life," said David Trolley of the Local Plumber and Steamfitters Union.
And then finally, the big surprise was when Old Saint Nick walked right through the front door.
"I got a Hanah Montana!" shouted Alexus.
The shy and reserved little girl could barely contain her excitement as she opened another present.
"A sweater!" she shouted.
"These kids don't normally have a Christmas, and they're going to have one that they're going to remember for a long time today," said Trolley.
For Alexus, it wasn't all about opening her presents, but more about watching her baby brother open his. And then just when it seemed nothing else could possibly top this, Santa Claus ushered in a line of brand new bicycles, making this early Christmas impossible for Alexus and Christian to forget.
"Thank you Santa!" said Alexus.
