
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The newest tourism figures show visitors to Hamilton County spent more than $700 million at area hotels, attractions and restaurants according to a report obtained from the Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. That figure contributed to the funding of nearly 7,500 jobs in the tourism industry in the Hamilton County area.
For fiscal year July 2007-June 2008, Chattanooga saw a record number for county room-tax collections at nearly $4.5 million dollars. This is an 11 percent increase of $450,000 over the last fiscal year.
