Eyewitness News has learned that Watts Bar nuclear plant is running on reduced power because of a hydrogen leak.
TVA spokesperson John Allen says the leak was discovered on a routine inspection and power has been reduced to 88 percent from 95 percent.
However TVA officials say Watts Bar can still meet power demands in this hot summer weather.
Allen says the leak is not on the reactor side but in the cooling system on the generator side of the power plant located in Spring City, Tennessee. Allen says there is no danger to TVA workers or the public.
