
Driver's license picture of Judy PayneDade County, GA (WRCB-TV) - Officials in Dade County are looking for a missing person in the Cloudland Canyon State Park. Judy Charlene Payne of Rock Springs, Georgia has been missing since Monday morning when she left for work in Chattanooga.
A Department of Natural Resource officer noticed Payne's car in a Cloudland Canyon State Park parking lot around 10:30 Monday night. He ran the plates on the vehicle, called the residence and spoke with her husband, who had not seen her since Monday morning.
The search began around 12:30 Tuesday morning. The Georgia State Patrol sent its helicopter to track with heat sensors, but was unsuccessful. Emergency workers from the Department of Natural Resources, Georgia State Patrol, Dade County Mountain Search and Rescue, New Salem Fire Department and the Dade County Sheriff's Department are on the scene. The American Red Cross is also assisting those searching for the missing woman.
Dade County Sheriff Patrick Cannon tells Eyewitness News investigators do not believe foul play is involved with Judy Payne's disappearance. Authorities are treating the situation as a missing person case until more evidence is found.
Judy Payne is 5 feet 2 inches and weighs 140 pounds. She has dark brown hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue t-shirt.
