We're learning more about the fugitive from Texas arrested from the ranks of corrections officers here in Hamilton County.
Deputies with the sheriff's fugitive division arrested Jeffrey Elder Thursday. He's wanted on a warrant issued out of Hemphill, Texas for debit or credit card abuse.
Authorities here say Elder has refused to sign the extradition order.
The process for a Governor's warrant has been started and it could take up to 90 days to complete.
Once it's finished for a judge's review, Elder will be sent to the state of Texas.
Elder worked for the past seven years for Hamilton County Community Corrections.
Deputies also search for Tameka Burney who is wanted out of Texas on the same charges. Anyone with information on Tameka Burney needs to call the Fugitive Division at 209-7140 or call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333.
UPDATE:Hamilton County Sheriff's Fugitive Division has arrested Tameka Burney on the Fugitive warrant out of Hemphill, Texas (Sabine County). She was taken to the Hamilton County Jail for booking. The original charge is the same as Jeffery Elder which is Debit or Credit Card Abuse.
