CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- A pet store that came under fire last year has closed.

Hamilton Place Mall confirms to Channel Three that the Pet Company packed up and moved out today.

McKamey Animal Shelter raided the Pet Company last year and seized several animals.

Officers say they found empty water bowls, broken cages, unsafe cleaning solutions and a broken air conditioner.

In court, the Pet Company argued the City had no jurisdiction over the store's business license.

So the judge dismissed the case and the store was allowed to stay open.

No word on why the Pet Company shut its doors.
