DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain has been convicted of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in his hometown in Alabama. A city court judge in Decatur convicted McClain on the misdemeanor counts yesterday. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star maintained his innocence, and is pressing an appeal.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) - Saints star tight end Jimmy Graham is finally at practice after a protracted contract holdout that kept him out of the Saints' offseason work. Graham says the hardest part of the holdout that ultimately produced his four-year, $40 million deal was being away from teammates and coaches.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) - Jairus Byrd sat out the Saints' offseason practices because of back surgery, and he remains on the sideline as training camp begins. Coach Sean Payton says Byrd is on New Orleans' physically unable to perform list, but he will return to practice before camp ends.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Southeastern Conference has become the most popular jumping-off point for underclassmen looking for a head start on NFL careers. The trend creates more spots to fill around the league with preseason camps approaching, but also helps entice blue-chip prospects to play in the SEC.
