ATLANTA (AP) - Devin Hester says the chance to get back to the postseason was a big reason he signed with Atlanta - despite the Falcons' 4-12 finish last season. Now Hester is anxious for the Falcons to look like a playoff contender when Atlanta starters get an extended look in their third preseason game against Tennessee tonight.

ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Hawks have re-signed guard Shelvin Mack. General manager Danny Ferry says Mack proved to be a good fit for coach Mike Budenholzer's system. Mack averaged 7.5 points and ranked second on the team with 3.7 assists per game. He played in 73 games, including 11 starts.

ATLANTA (AP) - Visitors to the new College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta will find 100-year-old artifacts have found a new home in the digital age. The new high-tech hall opens today, not far from the Georgia Dome, adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park and other attractions.

GREENVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a second man is in custody is the shooting death of former University of Alabama football player Ozell Powell. Police in Powell's hometown of Greenville say Samarjay Demontes Peterson surrendered yesterday. Peterson is now charged with murder. He's jailed without bond.
