News Minute: Here is the latest Alabama news from The Associated Press

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn University canceled classes today following what school officials are calling an unsubstantiated threat on campus. A message posted on the university's website says authorities don't believe the threat is credible. But school officials said they suspended classes and other normal operations for a day because of anxiety among students and parents.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Police are investigating a shooting at a Huntsville Walmart store that involved an off-duty Morgan County sheriff's deputy. Police say the gunshot wound yesterday afternoon was not life-threatening.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Homewood legislator Paul DeMarco so far has the fundraising in the crowded GOP primary for Alabama's 6th Congressional District seat. DeMarco reported contributions of nearly $851,000 yesterday, the most of any candidate.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle that struck and killed a Marine from Alabama. The highway patrol says 25-year-old Cason Bryant Park, of Gordo, Ala., was struck early Sunday morning after his car broke down on U.S. 82 in Oktibbeha County.
