DECATURVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee man accused of kidnapping and killing 20-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo has pleaded not guilty in court today. An April 9 status hearing was set for 29-year-old Zachary Adams. Bobo disappeared from her home almost three years ago.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed to stop six Memphis suburbs from starting their own public school systems. U.S. District Judge Samuel Mays said yesterday after reviewing the terms of the agreement that he found it "reasonable."
JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - Jackson police are asking for the public's help to identify a body found burned beyond recognition outside a vehicle. Firefighters yesterday found a burning car in a field and discovered the body right outside a newer model four-door Pontiac Grand Prix. Police say it appears to be the body of a male.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Internal Revenue Service says Tennesseans are e-filing tax returns in record numbers. Through March 7, the IRS had received more than 1.4 million electronic returns from Tennesseans. That is a 3.8 percent increase over the same time last year.
