Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- A traffic stop of a suspicious car led to the discovery of a local pastor who was found dead in his home on Glenwood Drive early Sunday morning at around 3.

Two men occupied the car that belonged to Pastor David Strong of St. Paul A.M.E Church.

Several attempts were made to verify use of Strong's vehicle, but Strong was unable to be reached.

Officers went to the pastor's home and noticed what appeared to be an unresponsive person on the floor.

They forced their way in through a window and found Strong dead of unknown causes.

There were obvious signs of a struggle and the death is being treated as a homicide, however, details on the manner of death are not yet available.

The two men who were in possession of the vehicle during the traffic stop are being questioned but no arrests have been made.
