HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB) Strong storms rolled through Hamilton County Wednesday evening, leaving some residents without power for most of the night.
EPB says most of the areas affected were Harrison, Hwy 58, Hixson and Soddy Daisy. Around 9pm Wednesday, 1 thousand people were without power.
The storms blew down trees, branches and limbs taking down power lines. In some instances, EPB says lightning struck the lines blowing out some of the fuses in the transformers.
Crews worked throughout the night to get the power turned back on. By 8:15 Thursday morning less than 100 people were still without power in the Harrison area of Rainbow Springs and River Run Road.
