Jefferson Awards for Public Service

Since 1972, The Jefferson Awards serve as a "Call to Action for Volunteers" in local communities on a local and national level. The WRCB Channel 3, Chattanooga Times Free Press, and First Tennessee  Bank have teamed up with the Jefferson Awards for Public Service, to honor Chattanooga's local volunteers who do extraordinary things for their community, their nation or the environment.

To Nominate A Volunteer

Submit nominations online or by mail. Your nomination should include the following information:

1. The Nominating should complete the following sentence: "This individual is nominated for a 2010 Jefferson Award because..."
2. How this nominee has impacted the community.
3. Years nominee has given their time and resources to help the community (Please include all the years the person has helped the community even if their nomination focuses on a specific project).
4. Names and contact numbers for references who can verify or give additional information on the individual's activities. Should a nominee receive multiple nominations, only one nominating essay will be reviewed by the judges.

Selection Process and Awards

Selection process and awards: A panel of judges will review the nominations and decisions will be made based on information submitted and verified. Should a nominee receive multiple nominations, only one nominating essay will be reviewed by the judges.
