ATLANTA (AP) - OMG! Do u know who wrote "Moby Dick"? LOL!
Students, faculty and staff at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta can now text message questions to the reference desk at the campus library and get responses on their cell phones. Even Agnes Scott students studying abroad can use the new service, which began earlier this month during final exams at the all-women's private college.
Elizabeth Bagley, director of library services, said cell phones are so ubiquitous on campus that it made sense to give students, faculty and staff the option of using text messaging to communicate with the library.
The texts go to a computer at the reference desk where a librarian can answer them immediately.
