Doorbuster Deals for Black Friday Confirmed Early

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- It's usually something retail stores keep secret as long as they can.  but this holiday season.  Walmart is giving customers a jump-start on those good buys.

Black Friday is just nine days away.

But we don't have to wait until thanksgiving to find out what the good buys are because Walmart has already confirmed some of its doorbuster deals.

It's that time of year, holiday shopping.  It's all about scoping out different retailers and finding the best buys.  And Walmart is giving shoppers a head start.

"I would anticipate very aggressive sales the day after," said Shawn Crews, Walmart Store Manager.

For those of you wondering what they'll have on Black Friday, Walmart is giving customers a little taste of what they'll see.

Some of the items include a 50-inch Sanyo plasma TV for $598 and a Magnavox Blu-Ray DVD player for just $78.

"We will definitely be looking at the toys, and I don't know if we're in the market for a TV or not, but we will definitely be looking at the toys," said Lisa Fritschen, customer.

Enticing shoppers to pay closer attention to the holiday deals.

"It's a great thing, better pricing is always good," said Fritschen, customer.

"Yeah I think that's great because sometimes the closer it gets to Christmas the less money you have towards that," said JoAnn Henry, customer.

While Black Friday isn't for everyone, Walmart is making sure some of its holiday deals are available before the mad rush on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

"They've done some polls and some surveys that have said that a lot of their customers would like to get their shopping done prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. It said 50% of the women would like to get their shopping finalized by the weekend before Thanksgiving," said Crews.

Starting Saturday, customers can save up to half on many items to beat the holiday shopping chaos.

And for JoAnn Henry, early deals means less stress later.

"I'm all about no stress during the holidays, usually that doesn't happen but whatever I can get done earlier is awesome," said Henry.

A spokesperson with Walmart told me the reason they released some of the doorbusters early is to make sure customers get the right information.

Walmart decided to share a few items with the public so they have an idea of what to expect on Black Friday. The entire ad will be released Monday.

Wal-Mart Stores confirms deals that include a 50-inch Sanyo plasma HDTVs for $598 and $3 children's sleepwear.

The day after Thanksgiving is considered the official kickoff for the holiday shopping season. It is an important barometer of shoppers' willingness to spend for the holiday period.

Melissa O'Brien, Wal-Mart spokeswoman, says that the deals that will be heavily advertised in its Black Friday circular also include Magnavox Blu-Ray disc players for $78, TomTom GPS systems for $59 and $7 reversible fleece jackets.
