Detectives Need Your Help Stopping Arsonist Suspected of Torching Two Homes

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Two arsons, one neighborhood, and now detectives need your help tracking down the suspects.

A home at 8512 Maplewood Trail in Ooltewah was torched back in July according to detectives. From the yard of that house, you can see another house that burned in the early morning hours Thursday at 4007 Izlar Drive Ooltewah. Detectives say both homes were vacant and neither had power.

Neighbors say they're glad the firefighters doused the flames before they could spread.

"Yes, it's alarming for those of us in the neighborhood, because the houses are so close together and there are children in the neighborhood," said Marcia Tenenbaum. "I can't sleep peacefully right now."

If you saw anything in the Ooltewah neighborhood on Maplewood Trail, call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333. Your confidential tip could earn you cash and help stop an arsonist.
