
Ronald L. Drake Jr.,CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Police say Ronald L. Drake Jr., 18, has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in connection with a shooting that happened Monday at 8:15 p.m.
Chattanooga Police responded to Erlanger on a report that someone had been shot. Police say the 17-year-old victim had a gunshot wound to the neck.
According to police, the victim's girlfriend said she and the victim were walking down Lockington Lane and passed in front of her ex-boyfriend's residence. Drake came out of his residence and started a verbal argument with the victim and his girlfriend. Police say the argument turned physical when the 17-year-old victim struck Drake in the face.
Police say Drake went inside his residence, retrieved a weapon and fired a shot striking the victim as they were walking away from the residence.
The victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. The victim was treated for a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his neck and a dislocated right shoulder. He has been released from the hospital.
Police say Ronald Drake will be transported to Hamilton County Jail where he will be booked on the above charges.
