EAST RIDGE (WRCB) --  East Ridge High School celebrated a major gift Thursday.

The Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation awarded a $77,000 grant to East Ridge High to update technology at the school's Construction Academy.

The grant will help to purchase laptop computers, white boards, LCD projectors and Construction Academy software. Funding will also help renovate classrooms and will assist with buying safety equipment and air handlers that will aid in creating a healthier environment. Lowe's district manager Sean Cannon presented the check to East Ridge principal Ron Peck, who said he'll put it to good use immediately.
