Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Police have identified the motorcyclist that was killed in an accident Saturday on Ringgold Road.

The motorcycle rider has been identified as Robert White, a 24-year-old, black male of Cleveland Tenn.  

Around 4 p.m. on Saturday, East Ridge Police and Fire/Rescue responded to the 6700 block of Ringgold Rd in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Officers arrived on scene to find a motorcycle had collided with a pickup.

The pickup driver has been identified as Joshua Odell, a 30-year-old, white male of Rossville, Ga.

The initial investigation has shown that the pickup had been traveling east on Ringgold Road and was turning into the Flea Market parking lot when the motorcycle collided with it. The initial investigation shows that excessive speed is a determining factor in this incident.

East Ridge Police Traffic Investigators are still speaking to witnesses and evaluating evidence.


EAST RIDGE (WRCB) -- East Ridge police investigate the death of a motorcycle driver.

The fatal collision happened Saturday at 4:00pm at the 6700 block of Ringgold Road where a motorcycle smashed into a pick-up truck.

Firefighters performed CPR on the motorcycle rider. They continued CPR along with paramedics as the driver was transported to Erlanger Hospital. The rider was later pronounced dead there. Police are withholding the identity pending the notification of the family.

East Ridge Police Traffic Investigators are gathering witness statements and evidence to determine what lead to the crash.
