Krystal's Square Off First Qualifier Results

We saw some local media take on the Krystal's Square Off Challenge Friday, with WRCB's own Seth Baxter blowing away the competition. Saturday it was the pros' turn.

The first qualifier for the sixth annual Krystal's Square Off Challenge took place Saturday in Chattanooga.

Professional eater Pat Bertoletti ran away with the competition.

This year two twists were introduced: no dunking and the Big Angus Burgers, which count as five Krystals.

Bertoletti downed 5 Big Angus Burgers and 42 regular Krystals in 8 minutes. The win earned 
Bertoletti a seat at the final table this Sept. 27 in Chattanooga.

Chattanoogan Rick Petralia placed third.

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Kobyashi, eat your heart out!

The Krystal Square-Off began Friday afternoon in downtown Chattanooga. Local media types had two minutes to scarf down as many burgers as possible, and our producer Seth Baxter won in a tie-breaker.

Baxter ate one Big Angus Burger and four Krystals and another Big Angus Burger to break the tie.

"My wife for the aerodynamic hairdo that gave me the winning edge, the competition, Blitz energy drink, everyone here thank you," said Baxter.

The final contest comes to the Riverfront September 27. Kobyashi will be there.
