McMinn County Woman Charged with TennCare Fraud

MCMINN COUNTY (WRCB) -- A McMinn County, Tennessee woman is charged in Hamilton County with using TennCare to pay for a forged prescription for narcotics.

 Katherine A. Woody, also known as Katherine A. Clark, is accused of altering the number of pills prescribed on a legitimate prescription for Lortab, an addictive painkiller, in an attempt to use TennCare to pay for the drugs. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Fugitive Unit arrested the 37 year old Riceville womant.  She could get a sentence of up to two years in prison. 

Through the OIG Cash for Tips Program established by the Legislature, Tennesseans can get cash rewards for TennCare fraud tips that lead to convictions.  Anyone can report suspected TennCare fraud by calling 1-800-433-3982 toll-free from anywhere in Tennessee, or log on to www.tn.gov/tnoig and follow the prompts that read "Report TennCare Fraud."
