CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - It's the first of its kind in Chattanooga. BarCamp Chattanooga gathered regional bloggers, tweeters, and social networkers Saturday to brainstorm and share ideas about technology and culture.
Approximately 75 people attended the free conference. About a third of the attendees came from Birmingham, Memphis, Charlotte, Nashville, and Knoxville. The rest were from the Chattanooga area. Those in attendance could choose among 23 presentations covering several areas of new media.
Organizers say they wanted to bring BarCamp to the Scenic City after seeing how it worked so well in cities like Nashville.
The one-day event at Chattanooga State was a way for folks to learn about technology and how to apply it to their lives. The platform allows people to share what they know with others.
"Quite a few on social media, Facebook, Twitter, how to use those in business and there's been a couple on iPhone development," said Daniel Ryan, organizer.
