Blagojevich's brother says he'll cope with charges

Associated Press - April 14, 2009 2:35 PM ET

CHICAGO (AP) - Rod Blagojevich's brother says he's prepared to cope with corruption charges outlined in a federal indictment also accusing the impeached Illinois governor.

Robert Blagojevich of Nashville, Tenn., pleaded not guilty in federal court Tuesday along with his brother. Both were charged in a 19-count indictment this month.

Last year, Robert Blagojevich became chairman of his brother's campaign fund, Friends of Blagojevich.

Robert Blagojevich attorney Michael Ettinger says his client looks forward to trial and doesn't plan on making deals with prosecutors.

Ettinger says the relationship between the Blagojevich brothers has been a little strained, but he believes things will work out between the two.

Ettinger says his client has high character and cited Robert Blagojevich's two decades in the U.S. Army.
